Raudyn Alfaro Araya

The merging of art, architecture and teaching has always been a constant in Alfaro’s work. Alfaro obtained a technical degree in architectural drawing and engineering from the Costa Rican Institute of Technology (TEC) while also teaching in various public schools in the province of Heredia. He graduated as an architect from the Universidad Hispanoamericana in 2014 and, one year later, began immersing himself in the world of art.

Every specialty has its rules and regulations to establish in the end parameters of value, in architecture is no exception, creativity is limited on many occasions by the properties of the materials or by the budget of the client; it is also very important to determine your own style that characterizes you before others in the art profession. In the art (painting) he has been able to develop his artistic style that within the architecture has limited him for the previously mentioned motives, the acquired architectural concepts and procedures facilitated him to explore and to determine this artistic style within the painting for its environment of neutrality.

Art gives him the freedom to develop compositions using geometric elements such as curves and circles which are difficult in architecture because of their construction in many cases; as an architect and lover of these elements he tries to give balance, dynamism, character, foundation and above all intentionality to each work, it is there where the artist he feeds on this knowledge allowing him to develop this new style and at some point also develop it as an architectural style.
