Jogen Chowdhury
Jogen Chowdhury is prominently known as the master of the unbroken line. Educated at the Government College of Art & Craft, Calcutta and subsequently at Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux Arts, Paris, he has had numerous shows till date. He is the Founder Secretary of Gallery 26, Artists Forum, New Delhi. He has been awarded the Best Award, Watercolour Painting, Calcutta University Institute Exhibition, Kolkata. Won the Gold Medal of Watercolour Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kolkata in 1958. In 1966, he was awarded Prix le France de la Jeune Peinture, Paris. He bagged accolods in 2nd Biennale in Havana, Cuba. Won the Shiromani Award for Art, by Asian Paints, Kolkata in 1997. He was awarded Kalidas Samman by the Government of Madhya Pradesh, Bharat Bhavan and Bhopal in 2001.
